CCR Questions - Music Video

1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? We decided to go with the park as our location because our storyline doesn’t really need a specific location. It relates to people who live their everyday lives and the park is a common location many people tend to go to, therefore we chose this location. Also, we believed that choosing the park would give us different locations within the area to shoot at such as the bathroom, path, bench, etc. All locations for our product was taken during the daytime. We created our storyboard to match the song’s meaning which was about suicide prevention. We wanted to highlight the issues many people face in their lives and then send a message letting these people know they aren’t the only one and it will get better soon. We want our audience to not just watch the video to watch it, but to understand the fact that there are people out there like this.  The message is very clear, and this exa...

There is a lot we can take from working on this project.    We adapted to each others way of doing things and even managed to learn new things from each other such as tricks in acting, filming, and editing. Also, we believe that when it comes to teamwork, we have improved and are able to harmonize our skills to reach a goal. Finally our music video is done! After all the planning, filming and editing we're finally finished with our 1-800-273-8255 music video. It was such a fun learning experience doing this project. The effort and diligence my team put in has been outstanding. I really appreciate them and I couldn't have done this entire project without them.   The whole goal was to make sure that our message was received and that people realize that bullying is a major cause in suicide. People go through things at home and hide the pain away with a smile and no one ever knows until it’s too late. My team and I have brought more awareness to these traumatic issues a...

Editing Blog For Music Video

After we filmed all of the scenes, I retrieved the clips from the video camera. I then put the SD card into my laptop and uploaded them to IMovie. After that, I reorganized the clips into the correct orders. This is because some clips were filmed before others. Then I had to retrieve the song we picked from YouTube, and then I converted it into a MP3 file. I then lined up the song to what fits best into the clips. I got to shaving the clips down, and making the necessary cuts for the other scenes. Originally, the MV turned out to be 2 minutes and 11 seconds long, so I had to improvise. I cut out all of the unnecessary parts of the clips in the MV. I ended up getting it down to 1 minute, which was the limit that we had for this project. Then for one of the scenes I put the black and white filter on it. This was to bring out the clip more to the viewers. Additionally, at the very end, I added a black screen. This was to emphasize the overall message we were trying to make for the MV. Thi...

Filming Blog Part 2 For Music Video

In our MV, there were many things that worked out in our favor. Firstly, was the drowning scene. Although we did not have a bridge we used the opening down into the water to our advantage. Secondly, the bathroom scene. We hoped that the park's bathrooms were open, and luckily they were. We figured they would be closed because of the pandemic. There were sport groups near to the unlocked bathrooms, so we filmed our next scene there. Also, there was a walkway that Actor 1 walked down and there was a bench for 2 of the scenes. The extra bullies walked down this path, to emphasize the harsh effect of the bullying from afar. We also implemented the use of pan, tilt and zoom ins in us filming the scenes. Our most dramatic scene was the last one, the hugging scene. We purposely did the effect of the hugging in a way that it is emotional to the audience. Which all further developed into our storyboard. It also clearly displays all throughout the filming process that it went from something...
